IT工程师的工作日志，原汁原味的英文 - 经常更新

这些都是我的同事们的工作单。

包括两部分，一是问题的描述，这部分一般是市场/销售人员写的，当他们接到客户电话，就会下一个任务单。
第二部分是问题如何解决的，这部分是技术人员在解决了问题以后写的。

在熟悉英语的时候，也可以增长点IT的技术经验吧？

所有英文全部是老外写的，我没有做任何改动，包括其中的拼写错误等等。
从我们眼里看去，肯定觉得有这样那样的问题，但这就是他们所用的英文。

Notebook wont boot. Freezes before getting to login screen

Please don’t lose this mans emails. He has some email in outlook (express) and hasn't archived it yet. He specifically wants to keep it (as well as everything else).

I'm also ordering this guy a spare / replacement battery.

***Please have a look at the battery model number. There has been a recall on laptop batteries for this model of notebook.

Jack's battery is dodgy and we erquire the part number of the battery to see if Jack is elligible for getting a replacement battery.

Attempted safe mode boot but machine hand at logon. No other option than to roll back to previous restore point. Booted to recovery CD, rolled system back to restore point from 1 week ago. Rebooted and verified could logon OK

Above all I don't want to break you, I like this article

DVD-Rom Drive cannot be found

Barbra's DVD-ROM Drive is coming up with an error message saying: DVD-ROM Drive cannot be found. They asked if a tech could give her a ring as they think it can be sorted out over the phone. It could be a driver error.

Found that the dvd was not always being detected in the drive.
Tried cleaning the disc.
This did not help.
Tried the disc in another laptop and it worked ok.
Using this laptop I copied all the data from the disc to a usb key.
Copied the data from the key to the problem laptop.
Tested playing the files..
This worked ok.
Showed the client how to work the settings.

Fax not working

Contact Andy (female).

The fax number: xxxxxxxxx

There is a double plug going into 1 line. The ph on that line works fine but the fax does not.

Could it be the double plug?

went on site and tested fax.
There was a disconnected sound when a phone was plugged in.
Tested calling in to the number.
This did not ring.
Attached the fax to the other fax lne and it worked fine.
This rulled out the fax machine as the ptroblem.
Informed client that problem exsisted with the phone line.
They told me that they would take over.
