be going places

When someone says that he or she or someone else is going places, it means
that they have a lot of potential for success.
意思是会有所作为。
I think this is a great job for you. Congratulations! You know, after a few
years of experience here, you’ll really be going places.
It seems like all the people I know are going places except me.
pull
“…and used his pull to get me a job in the luggage department.”
“……并且走后门帮我在行李部找了份儿工作。”
If you have pull with someone, it means that you have a good relationship
with him or her, and you can persuade him or her to do something to help
you. You can also say someone uses their pull to do something.

I’d love to help you get a job, but unfortunately I’m too new to have any
pull here.
Corny
“Oh come on, I like corny thinks!”

If someone refers to something as corny, it means he thinks it is

A big shot
“I was on my way to being a big shot attorney.”

A big shot is someone who has a great deal of power or influence.
大人物、大亨，有权势的人。
Sadam hired a couple of big-shot lawyers to represent him in court.
His dad is a big shot in the art world who knows everybody here.
Hold someone’s hand through sth
“I will not hold your hand.”“我不会帮你们的”
holding someone’s hand (through sth) is guiding somebody, assisting them
through something.帮助或陪同某人共同经历某事。
When I was at home, my parents would hold my hand through everything.
